Our Vision
Tuia ki runga
Tuia ki raro
Tuia ki te whai ao
Ki te ao-mārama
Tīhei mauri-ora!"
Join us as we embark on our journey to make a difference and support the ambitious goal of Te Pou - training 100,000 Mental Health First Aiders within the next 10 years.
Our Impact
With firsthand experience as a Pathways Support Worker and lived experience with mental illness, we strategically use our knowledge to build services, policies, systems, and evidence. Our reach extends to both individuals and businesses, united by the common goal of holding, supporting, and nurturing hope and personal power for those seeking to understand mental health and addiction needs.
"Helping one person might not change the world... but it could change the world for one person."
Workshops
OneLessThing offers workshops for both organisations and communities:
Organisations: Tailored workshop plans to meet your company's unique needs.
Communities: A two-day program designed for the public to learn how to assist someone in a mental health crisis, introducing the concept of MHFA and the principles and practice of Mental Health First Aid.
Mental Health First Aid training helps decrease stigma and discrimination often faced by those with mental health and addiction challenges.
Our Strategy
At One Less Thing, our strategy aligns with the principles of the He Ara Oranga report, emphasizing the importance of amplifying the voices of individuals and whānau in mental health services. We are dedicated to strengthening participation, self-determination, and equity. While inspired by Te Tiriti o Waitangi, our core values are rooted in hope, resilience, and the belief that wellbeing is achievable for all.
